Jason Dumbreck is Vice-President at ESM Solutions, and serves on the board advising on operations and administration, as well as merger and acquisition opportunities. Jason has oversight on ESM Solutions throughout eastern Canada.
Jason specializes in intellectual property investigations and security services conducted on behalf of a host of domestic and international brand owners. His focus on internet based investigations has created proven methodologies that have resulted in successful civil and criminal remedy for our clients. Jason has written proprietary threat assessment tools used to gauge the threat potential of entities intent on corrupting legitimate revenue streams. He has travelled extensively throughout North America facilitating and executing fraud prevention audits and crafting risk mitigation solutions for a multitude of communications and technology-based multinational organizations. Jason also oversees a team of inquiry investigators that specialize in life and health insurance based investigations.
Jason has given evidence in both civil and criminal courts, mediation, and labour hearings throughout Canada.
Mr. Garland is the current Director for ESM Solutions. He received his B.A. from York University and holds a Marketing Diploma from Georgian College. Robert started his career as a sale associated with AT&T providing fortune 500 companies with data and security solutions. With Roberts’s passion for security he ventured into the insurance market selling surveillance solution for two major Investigation companies. In 2004 Robert developed and operated the first ever security outfit offering insurance companies a post loss risk mitigation solution. Robert understands the clients the needs and supports our operational and business development efforts. He has over 12 years’ experience in the security and investigation industry and has managed some of the largest fire, disaster and flood sites in Canada such as the Sunrise propane explosion the Queen Street fire and the recent Calgary flooding. Aside from emergency solutions Robert also provides custom tailored security, labour and risk management solution to fit our corporate client’s image and asset protection philosophy.

Mr. Langlois is the Regional Manager for British Columbia and responsible for overseeing client requirements and quality of projects
He has been involved in the human safety, security and training field for the last thirteen years and has been working for CKR Global since 2006. During his career with CKR he has provided operational management and oversight for security services at the 2010 Winter Olympics for clients such as Coca-Cola, and CTV, managed security services at labour disputes in western, central and eastern Canada, and assisted government and corporate clients with their individual security needs and compliance training.
Mr. Langlois has designed and delivered knowledge and competency based training in human safety and security for many of our corporate clients including BC ambulance service, and training for licensed security guards. He has demonstrated leadership through coaching, mentoring and leading security workers through various levels on a national level.
In addition to his corporate work, Mr. Langlois has also been involved in teaching use of force through PLEA, a community services society of BC, providing a residential addiction treatment program for young women ages 12 to 18 aimed to increase self-esteem while decreasing substance abuse, criminal activity, and high-risk behavior.
Mr. Slipp works out of the Calgary office as a Regional Manager of ESM Solutions Security for
Alberta. He is licensed in the province of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario
as a Private Investigator, Executive Protection and Security Consultant. His primary focus is geared
toward insurance and property protection, along with the oil and gas industry.
David joined the firm in 2011 where he was actively involved in providing security to oil companies, which included the enforcement of the Alberta Motor Vehicle Act, patrol of ice roads, investigation of collisions and work place injury and drug and alcohol offences. He also worked in Labour Risk Management, Investigations and Surveillance before being promoted to Regional Manager to oversee a team of Security Professionals in Alberta.
With a background in Management, David has acted in the capacity of supervisor and has excellent skills in training and overseeing staff. His time as an Auxiliary Constable and Constable with the Nackawic Police Force has given him training and experience in patrolling for large events, conducting vehicle searches and maintaining traffic control. David Slipp was also Vice President of the Royal New Brunswick Rifle Association and acted as team coach for the Canada Winter Games. His coaching skills transition into his work career where he instills teamwork, discipline and constant growth amongst his staff and colleagues.
David currently holds NCCP (National Coaching) Certification.
Mr. Taljaard brings more than 26 years of international experience in law enforcement, private security and investigations to his current position. Prior to joining CKR Global, he held many high level security roles both in Canada and abroad, including an Operational Air Marshall for an international airline, Police Hostage Negotiator and Detective Inspector in Internal Affairs with the South African Police Service. Mr. Taljaard was until recently responsible for screening and ensuring all cargo transported on passenger aircraft on two major international air carriers across Canada and Brazil was safe and free of explosive materials. He further had to ensure the carriers were in compliance with both Transport Canada and the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) safety requirements and protocols.
In addition to his role at CKR Global, Mr. Taljaard also taught in The Police and Public Safety Institute at Algonquin College in Ottawa focusing on Background Investigations and Interviewing Techniques. With a strong focus on client relations and an excellent track record working on behalf of human resources professionals, insurance adjustors, security professionals and labour & civil litigation lawyers, he has produced outstanding results within the private sector.
